Officer Calls UFO ‘Work Of The Lord’
TAYLORSVILLE – Officer Steve Sasser of the police department here says he is still shaking after seeing the strangest sight of his life this morning.
Sasser, who has been on the force about eight months, was one of several men who saw an unidentified flying object before dawn today near the intersection of Miss. 531 and 28 at the Leaf River Bridge.
“I think people out ought to straighten up.” said a shaken Sasser.  The object is “the Lord’s work.”
Sasser gave this story:
Charles McKinley of the Taylorsville Police Department received a message about 4:#0am today from a wrecker-truck driver who was pulling a vehicle to Laurel.
The wrecker’s driver, obviously upset, said he saw something out by the LEaf River Bridge that he wanted the police to investigate.
Sasser went to the area, about 1 1/2 miles outside town.  When he arrived the truck driver, whose name was not immediately available, met him and pointed to an object in the sky.
“It was about 100 feet above the ground,” said Sasser, and off to the left of the highway.  ”The driver of the truck had said when he first spotted it the object was about 50 fee high, right over the highway pavement.”
Sasser said he and the truck driver stared at the object for a few seconds, maybe a couple of minutes.  And then it started toward them.
Sasser said it was oblong and gave off a whitish glow.  There was no sound and the object moved quickly up and down.  He said he could see no windows, only a glow of light and a little of the outline.
“I got back in the car and told headquarters it was getting pretty close.”  Sasser said, “I remember that incident at Pascagoula (where two men said they were taken aboard a UFO) and I didn’t want that.  It scared me.
“We called the chief (Tony Blakney) and he came out and we tried to take some pictures but they did not turn out.”
“Then it moved away and went up higher in the sky and just stayed there – about one hour and 20 minutes.”
“We went back to headquarters and we could still see it for a while and several people in town saw it,” said Sasser.
“Then we looked ad it was gone.”

Flora ’77

Did you know that Flora, Mississippi was the sight of a famous UFO incident.  Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy Kenneth Creel and Constable James Luke were on a routine patrol drive when they witnessed a 30 to 40 foot UFO which approached them at close range. “The thing came right over the car,” said Creel. “…The thing just hovered over us, about 20 or 30 feet up, for more than a minute.”  Read More Here.

Pascagoula ’73

By admin | February 22, 2011

Not all sightings involve the standard Reticulan (Gray, big eyes, long limbs).  On the evening of October 11, 1973, 42-year-old Charles Hickson and 19-year-old Calvin Parker — co-workers at a shipyard — were fishing off a pier on the west bank of the Pascagoula River in Mississippi. They heard a whirring/whizzing sound, saw two flashing blue lights, and reported that a domed, cigar-shaped aircraft, some 30 to 40 feet across and 8 to 10 feet high, suddenly appeared near them. The ship seemed to levitate about 2 feet above the ground.

A door opened on the ship, they said, and three creatures emerged and seized the men, floating or levitating them into the craft. Both men reported being paralyzed and numb. Parker claimed that he had fainted due to fright. They described the creatures as being roughly humanoid in shape, and standing about five feet tall. The creatures’ skin was pale in color and wrinkled, and they had no eyes that the men could discern, and slits for mouths. Their heads also appeared connected directly to their shoulders, with no discernible neck. There were three “carrot-like” growths instead – one where the nose would be on a human, the other two where ears would normally be. The beings had lobster-like claws at the ends of their arms, and they seemed to have only one leg (Hickson later described the creatures’ lower bodies looking as if their legs were fused together) ending in elephant-like feet. Hickson also reported that the creatures moved in mechanical, robotic ways.

Meridian ’67

As with the Flora 77 sighting, Meridian 1967 is an important sighting because of who witnessed it, Phillip Lanning.  A former Military Officer, Lanning was not your average Joe who sees a light in the sky.  Lanning’s car coasted to a stop, the radio went out, and he reported seeing an object “like a cymbal on a drum set and was a dirty metallic gray in color on the underside’. He saw no portholes or hatches and said that it appeared to the size of house.”  For More, go here.

RB-47 1957

By admin | March 28, 2009

Possessing the most sophisticated electronic intelligence (ELINT) gear available to the U.S. Air Force, the RB-47 could handle anything.

Unfortunately, in the morning hours of July 17, 1957, over the southern United States, an RB-47 came across something it was unprepared for.

In the first hint of what was to come, one of the three officers who operate the electronic countermeasures (ECM) equipment detected an odd signal. Moving up the radar screen, the blip passed some distance in front of the RB-47, then over Mississippi. Though puzzled, he said nothing. However, a few minutes later, at 4:10 A.M., the sudden appearance of an intense blue light bearing down on the aircraft shook the pilotand copilot. Even more unnerving, the object changed course in the blink of an eye and disappeared at the two o’clock position. The aircraft radar picked up a strong signal in the same spot. The UFO maintained this position even as the RB-47 continued toward east Texas.
